Why bother?

 

Could time spent on art be better used saving the planet or feeding the poor? An exploration of why the arts are an indispensable feature of human flourishing and should not be neglected or ignored.

Adrienne Chaplin is a philosopher and art historian, formerly of the Institute for Christian Studies in Toronto, where she was also President of the Canadian Society for Aesthetics. She co-authored Art and Soul: Signposts for Christians in the Arts.
