The Encyclopedia of Aesthetics defines kitsch as easy, formulaic and a lie. If this is true how can Christian kitsch ‘tell the truth’?

Betty Spackman is a multi-media installation artist and painter from Canada working with ideas of memory and archive through story and cultural objects. She is currently teaching part-time at Trinity Western University and is the author of ‘A Profound Weakness: Christians and Kitsch’.
