Trustee
Katie’s background is in community development, environmental sustainability, and organisational leadership. She is currently Chief Executive of the Sheila McKechnie Foundation, where she provides strategic direction and training to support campaigners and changemakers to achieve social impact. Previously, she worked as a strategy and leadership consultant, partnering with charities and non-profits to strengthen organisational effectiveness, culture and impact.
Before this, Katie spent over eight years at Christian Aid in a range of senior roles, including Head of Strategy and Development, combining organisational development with strategic delivery and innovation. She also led regional teams across the south of England, mobilising churches and communities to take action for justice. Earlier in her career, she spent eight years with Trees for Cities, leading environmental regeneration projects in areas of high deprivation and creating community-designed green spaces alongside training programmes for young people facing long-term unemployment.
Katie’s journey with Greenbelt began at just seven months old, and she has rarely missed a festival since. Greenbelt has inspired her to help create local faith and environment festivals, and continues to shape both her faith and her theology. She is delighted to serve Greenbelt as a trustee.
