Testament is an award winning writer, rapper, educator and worldrecordbreaking beatboxer.
Celebrated for his genre‑shifting creativity, social engaged lyricism and electrifying presence on stage, his work moves between theatre, music, poetry and broadcasting.
Testament has appeared across BBC, ITV and Sky Arts from teaching the country rap on Blue Peter to performing his acclaimed theatre show Orpheus in the Record Shop on national TV. His wideranging output spans spoken word, composing for awardwinning advertising, musicals, nature essays, radio history documentaries and freestyle rapping for Nobel Peace Prize winners!
Testament is best known as the writer of the multinominated play Black Men Walking and his album HOMECUT: No Freedom Without Sacrifice featuring Grammy winner Corinne Bailey Rae and was listed as Top 10 album of the year (The Metro) back in 2009. Testament is a writer on the hit Top10 Netflix animated series Castlevania: Nocturne.
As an educator he runs the HIPHOP CLINIC delivering rap, poetry and beatbox workshops worldwide, and has presented several podcasts with BBC Bitesize.
He is currently associate artist at Leeds Heritage Theatres and is the current presenter of BBC Radio 4’s live poetry show The Adverb.
