Rosina Godwin

I greatly enjoy teaching and exploring the creative possibilities of textiles. I have run over 40 experimental knitting workshops, including Creature Dis-comforts (Leyden Gallery, part of Whitechapel Gallery’s Nocturnal Creatures), Knitting Small Creatures (Get Living, East Village, Stratford, London), plus my own online series.
My artwork plays with the homely associations of knitting, to challenge the traditional hierarchy of the arts, using a women’s craft medium. I have exhibited across London and the South East, given talks and delivered conference papers entitled Freudian Knits and Body Bits (In the Loop at 10, Winchester School of Art), and Slit, Tits and Phallic Knits (Medium Conference, London School of Mosaic).
