The brainchild of George Fuller and Anna Sandreuter, Mary Bijou Cabaret & Social Club was founded in 2010 and has gone on to create 11 productions, including their touring show, HITCH.
Mary Bijou Cabaret & Social Club’s aim is to create events that include the audience as participants. As Joe Strummer of the band The Clash once said: “Our fans are our friends.” Mary Bijou believes this is an important distinction. Because it’s a philosophy that allows creativity to be seen as circular. The artists work to create and express new ideas, but the viewer of work is also being creative as they interpret their experience. This is key to Mary Bijou’s output as an art-making company.
