Blessings and Rituals for the 21st century

People are choosing to bless babies and hold weddings and funerals without the church, in a way that seems less hypocritical, more celebratory and more in tune with their lives. How can the church respond? Tess speaks from her experience as a parish priest, healthcare chaplain, liturgy writer and celebrant who draws from the Earth tradition as well as Christianity.

Tess Ward is a hospice chaplain in Banbury, a writer of prayers and ceremonies, and a celebrant. She is the author of The Celtic Wheel of the Year and Alternative Pastoral Prayers, both of which explore the spirituality that flows naturally between the Christian and Earth traditions.
