Panel: The world is the poor’s and everything in it?

In South America the church has proved itself as a vehicle of liberation of the poor. In what ways could this inform the church in the current economic recession? Does this focus remove biblical texts from their original context? Are we not merely focusing on a subset of bible passages that fit, and forgetting the broader picture? And how far should the poor be the focus of our theology? Chaired by Sarah Snyder, with Margaret Hebblethwaite and Paolo Ueti.
