Assemble ingredients gradually over weeks and months. Brew slowly in the imagination. Season with dialogue, characters, humour to taste. Add spice. When ready, allow Editor to taste. Serve up to public in sophisticated hardback covers. Decorate with puffs and striking author photo. (If hardback is not available, paperback makes an acceptable alternative.)

Catherine Fox has written three novels: Angels and Men, The Benefits of Passion and Love for the Lost, & Scenes from Vicarage Life, based on her Church of England Newspaper column.
