Palestine and the Arab revolution: An overview of current events in the Middle East and the future for the Palestinians

 

A review of the recent changes in the Arab world and their effect on the Palestinian question. This session will give a picture of the current political situation, assess the significance of the Palestinian proposal for UN recognition of statehood, and look at the possibilities for a solution to the conflict.

Ghada Karmi is a Palestinian academic and writer who works at the University of Exeter. Her most recent books are a memoir, In Search of Fatima, and Married to Another Man: Israel’s dilemma in Palestine.
