Opening our eyes; bridging divides

In a world shaped by divisions and binaries, it is little wonder that conflict and violence abounds. Exploring the relationships between the personal, political and communal, Laura Zahra McDonald will discuss the idea of renewed perception, where our connections to faith, ethics or spirituality can inspire social change and overcome the boundaries to create new beginnings, horizons and futures.

Laura Zahra McDonald lectures at the University of Cambridge Muslim College and contributed to a body of research at the University of Birmingham on community-state engagement and conflict. She is also the founder of ConnectJustice, which harnesses in-depth research programmes to inform practical approaches to conflict transformation.
