Life Begins in Nonviolent Resistance to the Principalities and Powers of War

SAS combat veteran Ben Griffin and long-time resister Ciaron O’Reilly share their experiences of following the disarmed Christ in a time of never-ending war. They wrestle with the question of how to engage in prophetic resistance in a time when the only request empire makes of Christians is to disengage and avert our gaze from the victims.

Ciaron O’Reilly has spent his adult life within Dorothy Day’s Catholic Worker movement. He has spent a total of two years in prison for nonviolent antiwar activity, including disarming a B52 bomber in the US. Having previously served with the Parachute Regiment in Northern Ireland, Macedonia and Afghanistan, Ben Griffin is now an organiser with Veterans for Peace UK.
