Romy was a co-founder of the Muslim-Christian Agency for Rural Development based in Mindanao, Philippines. It became a partner of Christian Aid in 1979. In 1991 he went to Edinburgh University as a lecturer on Theology and Development. Romy joined the Christian Aid staff in 1997 and serves as the Head of Team for the West Midlands and North West Team.

Romy straddles the worlds of the South and of the North. Committed to justice for all, Romy spent the earlier part of his life in his native Philippines and for the past twenty years has been helping people across the UK to reflect theologically on the key isues of our times
