What happens when the ‘substance of things seen’ attempts to express the ‘substance of things hoped for’? When does seeing help believing, and when is it a stumbling block?

Betty Spackman is a multi-media installation artist and painter from Canada working with ideas of memory and archive through story and cultural objects. She is currently teaching part-time at Trinity Western University and is the author of ‘A Profound Weakness: Christians and Kitsch’.
