Enough is enough: the gospel in a consumer society

 

The most serious problem that confronts humanity in the coming century is the ecological problem. this is driven by the doctrine of unlimited economic growth. How should Chrisitans respond to this? What kind of discipleship does it call for?

Tim Gorringe is an Anglican priest who worked in Leeds and Oxford before going to India for seven years. Since then he has taught in Oxford, St Andrews and now in Exeter. His main academic interest is in relating the gospel to everyday life. Since he grew too old to climb he has become a beekeeper and poultry keeper and is currently nagging his wife to buy a cow. He is a member of the Iona community and a keen supporter of CAMRA.
