Radical Funerals

Ru Callender has been a self-taught radical undertaker for over 20 years, setting up The Green Funeral Company in 1999 and described in The Good Funeral Guide as one of ‘The best undertakers of all time, by a country mile’. He is committed to ending the conveyor belt funeral experience, getting rid gas-guzzling hearses and plastic-handled coffins in favour of meaningful, participatory ceremonies. Ru Callender is co-founder of The Green Funeral Company and author of What Remains: Life, Death and the Human Art of Undertaking. His unlikely ritual influences include the making of crop circles, punk and acid house culture.
