Alice Wroe

Alice Wroe is XR Lead for Atlantic Institute where she serves a global fellowship of leaders committed to accelerating the eradication of global inequities. She explores how emerging technology can further social equity.

Previously she was Creative Director of Magic Leap’s digital human, where she oversaw the creative and ethical direction of the pioneering digital human who, under her direction, used art and culture to engender positive ways for society to relate to embodied AI.

Alice is a futures thinker, driving critical thought; she has spoken at the Wall Street Journal’s Future of Everything, Grace Hopper Celebration for Women in Computing, Sundance New Frontiers, UNESCO and more.

As Founder of Herstory, Alice has creatively activated women’s history for some of the world’s leading brands and institutions. Highlights include commissions for Penguin Books, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, BBC and U2, where she curated digital content for the Joshua Tree tour in 2017 and 2019, championing country specific women’s history for 21 countries, seen by
over 3 million people.

Alice also writes fiction and previously worked for Tate as an Assistant Curator, she deeply believes it is only when creativity and innovation come together that we can make sense of the future.
