Suicide: A pastoral challenge to the church

Suicide is a taboo topic, yet among young males it is the second highest means of death – and the church is not exempt. This session takes a theology based on Easter Saturday to help understand the situation, offering ideas as to the best practice in terms of intervention and support.

Mike Parsons has been a theology research fellow (in computing and society), an inner-city team rector, a director of ordinands, and is now the principal of a regional ordination training course. His recent booklet, Suicide: A pastoral theology, came about after a close friend took her own life.
