DOLLY CHURCH

DOLLY CHURCH

Inclusive Gathering Birmingham presents Dolly Church Sunday: A special ‘church service’ inspired by the life, music, values and spirituality of the one and only Dolly Parton.

Inspired by St John’s Presbyterian Church’s 2022 Dolly-themed Pride service in San Francisco, Inclusive Gathering Birmingham originally presented Dolly Church at the Old Rep Theatre in Birmingham in January in honour of Queen Dolly’s birthday.

At Greenbelt this year, we will be holding our own Dolly Church on the Shelter Stage on Sunday afternoon featuring a sing-along celebration of Dolly’s music led by the band Eeek with special guest Flamy Grant. Dolly litanies, prayers and inspiration will be offered by Inclusive Gathering with a “sermon” on Saint Dolly by Rev Trey Hall (Radio 2 Thought for the Day/ the Methodist Church).

Don’t miss this rainbow and rhinestone-laden celebration of all the ways that Dolly Parton points us to God and to goodness.

About Eeek…
Hailing from the Midlands (and New Jersey), the ladies of Eeek met each other one by one, playing together in a variety of different bands over the course of a decade before finally forming Eeek in 2008. Their shared musical history and strong friendships are part of their unique sound. Eeek has performed at Pride events in Brighton, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Nottingham and Manchester, been a popular feature at L-fest. Their album Love, Loss & Bowling is available on iTunes.
