Withered Hand

Withered Hand

Laura Hynd

Withered Hand is the pseudonym of Edinburgh-based singer-songwriter Dan Willson, and his style is plaintive, yearning, quirky, and Americana-tinged, in the ballpark of Lambchop, The Band, and Jad Fair. Greenbelt has a penchant for guests with intriguing religious upbringings that continue to inform their work, and Dan was brought up a Jehovah’s Witness. Since the release of his debut album Good News in 2009, Dan has become a celebrated figure in the Scottish music scene and further afield. A well-travelled touring singer-songwriter, he has quietly amassed a devoted cult fanbase while staying true to a singular artistic vision.
