Tongues.

Tongues.

Tim Kwant’s solo project ‘Tongues.’ was born from demos pieced together during an 8 month round-the-world trip. Bold synths, deep subs and soaring vocoders have drawn comparisons to Hot Chip, Alt-J and fellow Glaswegians Chvrches. Tongues.’ soul aim is to create inspiring, uplifting pop songs combining raw energy with a delicate emotive touch.

Tongues. burst onto the scene in January 2015 when the song ‘Colours In The Dark,’ was accidentally left public on Soundcloud. The song gained a substantial online following and a live 4-piece band was created. The next few months saw them supporting touring artist Indiana, headlining Glasgow’s infamous King Tut’s, playing the BBC Introducing stage at T in the Park and the Belfast Culture Night.

‘Religion’ followed up the early success of the band, gaining widespread recognition across the industry. The song rose to No. 1 on Hype Machine, was picked up by Spotify’s ‘Discover Weekly’ playlist and has been played on regional BBC radio stations as well as Huw Stephens’ BBC Radio 1 show.
