Scene Unseen by Martin Crampin

Martin is an artist and art historian making work based on the medieval and modern visual culture of the church.

A common theme in his work has been to inspire an appreciation of the historical visual culture around us, allied with the visual transformation of pattern and imagery into works of contemporary appeal. In ‘Scene Unseen’ Martin will juxtapose new work based on medieval patterns and photography communicating the visual power of figurative stained glass, in order to suggest the potential of the range of visual culture found in churches for contemplation and liturgical use.
