Pint Dreams, Tin Box Theatre

Pint Dreams, Tin Box Theatre

Tin Box is a Birmingham based theatre company founded by Directors Jo Gleave and Jo Newman. Together with a team of collaborators we create theatre which explores inventive uses of storytelling, visual theatre and site-specific performance.

Our first piece, Stop the Clocks (2011) was a promenade performance in Newman Brothers Coffin Fittings Factory, supported by IdeasTap and Birmingham Conservation Trust. Our second piece, Not Known at This Address (2012) developed at Battersea Arts Centre, received its premiere at mac Birmingham and toured to several other venues in the UK. In 2013 we were theatre makers on the inaugural year of Birmingham Repertory Theatre’s Foundry Programme and were part of New Diorama’s Emerging theatre companies scheme.

Pint Dreams was originally commissioned by the Holding Space consortium (Birmingham Repertory Theatre, Warwick Arts Centre, mac Birmingham, Black Country Touring and Stan’s Cafe), and toured to pubs in the West Midlands in March 2013. The piece continued to tour to pubs, festivals and venues throughout the UK in Summer 2013 supported by Arts Council England.
