Since 1989 Paul has visited nearly 4000 schools, libraries and festivals with his poetry. He has published over 60 titles and sold well over a million books. His poems have featured on Radio 2 ( Zoe Ball Show and At The Foot Of The Cross ), BBC1 ( The Women’s FA Cup Final ). He is the Poet In Residence for The National Football Museum, Everton In The Community, Let’s Go Sing and has recently contributed words for the C of E project Hympact.
Also, a songwriter, he has collaborated with a wide range of musicians – including Don Powell from Slade. With musician Les Glover they made the album “Just My Cup Of Tea” ( 8/10 in Classic Rock)
Since lockdown began Paul has written and shared a brand new poem every day on social media. This Covid poetry diary has so far brought forth four brand new collections – Fighting Talk, Can Of Worms, Pig’s Ear – Dog’s Dinner and Nail On The Head. To date Paul has written over 900 poems on consecutive days.
Paul’s first Greenbelt was in 1977 and he has performed at every festival since then, curating first The Late Night Twist and for the last twenty five years, the legend that is The Family Twist. Not just a festival regular, but a festival fixture and favourite too.
