Jonathan Kearney

Jonathan Kearney is an artist and Course Leader for an innovative Masters in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

Since 2004 Jonathan has pioneered online education and this unique context provides the basis for a current practice based PhD exploring the intersection of art and teaching.

Using an ethical and theological proposition of ‘being––with’ as the lens and framework through which to understand both creative and teaching practice, Jonathan’s art engages with a range of materials, from glue to augmented reality technology, all with a sense of ‘being––with’ the material. His teaching engages with a heutagogical approach, again ‘being––with’ the educational experience and seeking to explicate the stance/gesture of the teacher.
