Hannah Scott

Hannah Scott

Much of the inspiration behind Hannah Scott’s music can be found in her affinity with Italy. A year living and working in Tuscany in her late teens provided the backdrop to her early work. She sub-sequently spent nine months travelling back and forth to the hilltop villages of Liguria to record her well-received EP Still Static.

Now she has finally found her musical home at Stefano Della Casa’s London-based label, Casa Music – or, as she puts it, her “own little corner of Italy”.

Hannah’s latest collection of songs, The Space In Between, sees her collaborate with producer and multi-instrumentalist Stefano, whose influence and direction have been key to her progression both as a songwriter and performer.

The record features world-class musicians such as David Clayton (Simply Red, Take That) and is out on the Casa Music label now.

Praise for Hannah’s distinctive voice, strong melodies and thought-provoking lyrics has arrived from influential publications such as MOJO, who shortlisted her from hundreds of entries for the final of their New Voice competition, and The Guardian, who handpicked her as their New Band of the Day.

Further appreciation and national airplay has come from BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson. Her arresting live performances have earned her invitations to open for artists including Norah Jones, Ed Sheeran and 10cc and she has performed at renowned venues such as the Union Chapel as well, of course, as playing throughout Italy.

The passing of time inevitably brings change but for Hannah two things remain constant: Music and Italy. If ever you are looking for her, you will probably find her doing what she loves best in the place that will always feel a bit like home.
