Genevieve

Genevieve

Genevieve Dawson is a singer-songwriter originally from Edinburgh and now based in South-East London.

At the heart of her songs is an arresting honesty, a directness and warmth that has caught the attention of London’s alt-folk scene.

Growing up on Joni and Ella, Genevieve went on to study music, developing her craft and confidence, composing for other musicians for the first time and being pushed far beyond her comfort zone as an artist.

After a stint living in Cairo and Morocco with just her guitar and a book of words to make her songs, she returned to London with new sounds and stories to tell, and joined the likes of James Blake to continue her studies at Goldsmiths, University of London.

She is joined in her band by fellow Goldsmiths alumni, multi-instrumentalist Rick Leigh and drummer Danny Trouton.
