Fulu Miziki roughly translates as “music from garbage” which is a pretty accurate description of this thrillingly chaotic eco-friendly, Afro-futuristic, punk collective of artists, who’ve built an orchestra using objects people have thrown away. Geographically this multidisciplinary gang is based in the Congolese capital city Kinshasa, in the heart of Africa, but spiritually they are beamed to us from a future where humans have reconciled with mother earth and with themselves. They also make their own performance masks. For Fulu, everything can be recovered and re-enchanted, and we say amen to that.
