Dareen Tatour is a Palestinian poet, filmmaker and activist from Reineh, near Nazareth. Her work explores identity, justice and the power of language, often weaving the personal with the deeply political. In 2018, she was convicted by an Israeli court for a poem she published online — a case that drew international condemnation and highlighted the repression faced by Palestinian artists. After serving a prison sentence, Dareen continues to write, speak and perform worldwide. Her poetry challenges silencing and celebrates survival — defiant, brave and unflinching.
