Andrew Finney

Andrew has been campaigning with Fossil Free Oxfordshire for divestment from fossil fuels at the Oxfordshire local government pension scheme for over 10 years in which time the scheme has reduced its investments in fossil fuels from over 7% to less than 1%. He has contributed to national campaigns regarding climate risk and pensions. He recently led the drafting of a response by UK Divest to the government’s consultation on pension reform of the local government pension scheme. His day job is in software engineering and lives in Oxford. Andrew is interested in understanding why financial institutions continue to invest in fossil fuels against the long term interests of their clients.
