What will I be doing?
Situated in the Volunteers Lounge we are part of the support provided for Greenbelt Volunteers. This is a role for experienced Greenbelt volunteers.
We help with answers to many varied questions about the site, facilities, venues etc. Information on Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) will be provided, but initiative, knowledge and experience of Greenbelt is needed at other times.
We also distribute Team Leader packs for all the Volunteer teams.
Other parts of the role include selling Greenbelt programmes, and providing phone charging facilities for the volunteers.
We work closely with the Volunteer Pastoral team as the contact point for anyone needing specific support.
Other than that, we take on miscellaneous tasks requested by the Volunteer Co-ordinator. As we support the other Volunteer teams, we start work on Thursday at 9am and work through until Monday 6pm.
What skills do I need?
It is essential to have good knowledge of the festival and the site, so really need to have experienced Greenbelt for a few years.
Ability to remain calm and friendly when trying to find out what someone is really asking.
What hours will I be volunteering?
Arrival on site Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. Departure from Monday evening. There is some scope for flexibility on this.
The daily hours are Thursday to Monday from 9am – 9pm, Sunday we start at 12 (after communion) until 9pm. Shifts are allocated amongst the team across these.
