University of Winchester

Founded in 1840, the University of Winchester offers undergraduate and postgraduate study on a range of subjects within the arts, humanities, social sciences, business, law, sport, education, and health and social care.

We have a strong commitment to our values – compassion, individuals matter and spirituality – and encourage all staff and students to strive for social justice and make a real difference in the world.

We are located in the best place to live in the UK (Halifax Quality of Life Survey, 2016), and our beautiful, modern campus is just a 10-minute walk from Winchester city centre.

The University holds the British Quality Foundation UK Excellence Award 2016 in recognition of excellence across its operations. We also received the BQF Sustainable Future Achievement Award 2016 for outstanding environmental or social contribution to achieving a more sustainable world and were shortlisted for the University of the Year in the Times Higher Education Awards 2017.
