Playing a wide range of music with mainly soulful/jazz/African/Latin influences, Heather Wall loves to weave sometimes seemingly disparatetracks into a tapestry with a deep groove and soulful melody.
A jazz fan at heart, her tracks can range from mid-twentieth century gospel to the best new releases in jazz, world and electronic music.
She’s played the mainstage at Greenbelt festival for seven years, as well as the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Stage at On Blackheath. In London she’s DJ’d as part of Brownswood DJs and in Manchester she ran her own successful underground night ‘Mostly Mobo’.
She currently has a monthly show on Netil Radio where she showcases a mixture of the best new music and some old gems that may have got lost in time. She’s also a part of the Dimensions festival DJ directory, a collection of up-and-coming DJs that have been selected for their credibility and authenticity.
Heather is all about music that music that has soul and tells a story.
Specially for Greenbelt she’ll be digging out her favourite party classics. Probably music including soul and Motown, 90s/00s hip hop and R&B, but as the set is entirely improvised, no one can ever be sure…
