Lazarus Come Forth

John Dear reflects on the warmaking which is destroying the world, and the creative nonviolence which offers a way out. He considers Jesus’ nonviolence which is at the heart of Christianity, and calls us to fulfil our vocation as peacemakers, contemplatives, activists, teachers, prophets and visionaries.

John Dear is a Jesuit priest, pastor, peacemaker, retreat leader, and author. He served for years as the director of the Fellowship of Reconciliation, the largest interfaith peace organisation in the US. He has been arrested 75 times, given thousands of lectures and written several books, including his autobiography, A Persistent Peace.
