How to be a Bad Christian – and a Better Human Being

What if I’m happier in a pub than a church? What if I struggle with creeds and doctrines but still want to follow Jesus? What does Christianity look like as a spiritual practice instead of a belief system? Can I PLEASE have God without the guff and paraphernalia?

Dave Tomlinson was a house church leader for many years before founding Holy Joes, a church in a pub for disaffected churchgoers. He is now the vicar of St Luke’s, Holloway in north London. He is the author of the seminal The Post-Evangelical and Re-Enchanting Christianity, and this year’s festival sees the launch of his new book, How to Be a Bad Christian.
