Dazzling Darkness – Being a trans, lesbian priest in the Church today

Dazzling Darkness – Being a trans, lesbian priest in the Church today Exploring her experience of changing sex, of being lesbian and chronically ill, and of being a Church of England priest, Rachel Mann suggests that darkness can be a positive place, inhabited by the Living God – the Dark God, the Hidden God. An exploration of what it means to be an unconventional person active in a church that can prioritise the conventional over the creative.

Rachel Mann is a parish priest, writer and poet based in south Manchester. A former teaching fellow at Lancaster University, she is poet in residence at Manchester Cathedral, regularly contributes to The Church Times and writes about music for the more esoteric and riff-laden music press.
