Hunting For Bunting
The Site Vibing team will be adding to the streams of bunting which adorned the festival this year.
It's a nice job to get started on during the winter, so download the pattern, and get creative!
Or... why not start up a bunting group? It could be a family, a church group, a youth group, older group or the Girl Guides for example — it's a really good way to get all ages working together.
All you need is a space to get crafty, a sewing machine or two, some cutters-out and some fabric. This is a great way to recycle the items of clothing you no longer wear and, like a giant patchwork quilt, you can add your page to the Greenbelt story.
Finished bunting can be sent to the Greenbelt Office, All Hallows On The Wall, 83 London Wall, London EC2M 5ND, or brought along to the Site Vibing Making Days.
If you have any questions about making Bunting, email vibing@greenbelt.org.uk. We look forward to seeing your handiwork above our heads!
Flags Up!
If you are interested in getting involved in making bigger flags, such as those that festooned the grandstand, you could join the team of eager machinists that that have offered their skills.
Site Vibing co-ordinator Saga Arpino has made instruction sheets, and will send out a package of fabric and thread ready for you to sew and post back (with the enclosed stamps)
Let us know if you want to get involved in this way. Email vibing@greenbelt.org.uk and leave a message including your phone number.
Site Vibing Making Days
In 2010, Making Days were held in Leeds and London, before a Making Week for a small group of volunteers. Check out some of the things that were made in Leeds on our blog, and also take a look at some of our other blog posts about Site Vibing throughout the year...
If you'd like to participate in this way, send us an email, and we can work out how you can get involved...
