The Fire Crew is made up of volunteers who are passionate about the safety of everyone who attends the festival.

Fire Operations volunteers are Operational Firefighters, or former Operational Firefighters. They attend incidents and provide a first response to any fire related issues on site (prior to the arrival of Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service where necessary). Fire Operations liaise with the Greenbelt Control Room and the festival’s Operations Management team. The Crew interact with festivalgoers with tents in the campsite, offering fire safety advice and providing help and assistance as required.

Volunteers need to:

• be serving or former Firefighters
• have an understanding of Greenbelt Festival and how it works
• be able to perform under pressure
• be willing to volunteer during unsocial hours
• be able to use own initiative
• be able to perform within a team
• be available from Wednesday before the Festival until Tuesday after it

Fire Support volunteers have a range of duties including ensuring all alarm points and fire breaks are maintained, distributing fire extinguishers to venues around the site, covering shifts in the Watch Tower situated on the main camping field, and assisting at incidents where appropriate.

Volunteers need to :

• have an understanding of Greenbelt Festival and how it works 
• be willing to volunteer during unsocial hours 
• be able to use own initiative 
• be able to perform within a team 
• be available from Wednesday before the Festival until Tuesday after it
