The Beer Tent is one of the key social areas at the Festival, and is much-loved as a meeting place and an area to unwind and soak up the Festival atmosphere.

We work with the company Big Bars to supply drinks to Festivalgoers, but the bar is staffed primarily by volunteers.

If you'd like to be a part of the Beer Tent team, you will need:-

• A friendly and welcoming attitude towards people buying drinks
• Experience working behind a bar, or experience with customer service
• Experienced, confident and reliable when handling cash
• A referee's name and email address so we can be assured that you're responsible and have experience handling cash
• To be over 18
• A willingness to be part of a busy but fulfilled team, with the gratitude of a Festival of drinkers!

Beer Tent Stewarding 

Greenbelt isn't like other festivals. In six years of having a licensed venue on site, there have been very few aggressive alcohol-related incidents either inside the Jesus Arms or across the site. We'd like to keep it that way. 

In the unlikely event that any incidents occur in the Beer Tent, we have security professionals [SIA] on hand to deal with them. However, this year, we're looking to complement those professionals with a small team of volunteers, who can provide a more friendly stewarding service both within the tent, and also the picket-fenced outside area. 

Key attributes for our volunteers is therefore to be firm but friendly, with good communication skills a team player, recognising when to hand over situations to SIA as appropriate. 

Your duties will be: 

• checking wristbands to ensure festivalgoers are welcomed 
• to ensure no-one leaves the venue with any alcohol in their hand (the festival village is an alcohol free area) 
• to liaise with the venue manager, night steward and DPS (Designated Premises Supervisor) 
• in co-ordination with the SIA security staff who will deal with unsuitable behaviour 
• to inform stewards if anyone leaves the Jesus Arms in an unfit state
