Greenbelt isn't equipped to be - and neither does it see itself as - a therapeutic community. In other words, it is not a Christian event that offers lots of opportunities for 'ministry' and / or 'counselling'.
This is not to deny that thousands do find the Festival an immense support - fuel and inspiration for their journeys of faith year-round. And we do acknowledge that there will be those at the Festival who are looking for a listening and caring ear. Or those who are stirred up by something they hear in a talk over the weekend.
So, we do provide a range of support at Greenbelt - but always with emphasis on signposting people back into their own lives and communities to continue any process of healing begun at the festival. We do not want to foster dependency and we do not encourage people to lock into Greenbelt itself as their four-day, yearly 'fix' in any way. Greenbelt is about turning outwards and onwards. And this momentum underpins the level and style of support we offer at the Festival.
