Professional comics artists, writers and editors discuss whether the comic is now a dead art form.
Is there anything new that can still be done, or are we destined to have endless rehashes of past glories. Are comics doomed to endless multi million dollar film versions of once revered graphic novels, such as Alan Moore’s Watchmen? Or can they still pull something new out of the bag?
Despite the odd flash of brilliance, superheroes continue to dominate the art from.. Can we ever get rid of them for good? Would we want to? And what would take their place?
And if we are stuck with them, what does our longing for something better, faster, stronger and more noble than ourselves say about our society and our yearning for God?
