Grammy-nominated Texans, most famous for Kiss Me and their covers of There She Goes and Don't Dream It's Over.
Sixpence None The Richer founders Matt Slocum and Leigh Nash began their partnership in the early 90s growing up together in Texas.
Most noted for the Grammy-nominated ballad Kiss Me, Sixpence quickly became a household name. Their 2002 follow up record Divine Discontent delivered another Top 10 US single with its cover of Crowded House's Don't Dream It's Over.
After a handful of albums, the pair amicably parted ways in 2004. Thankfully, the split was far from permanent.
Guitarist/Songwrite Matt explains, "Leigh and I had been making music together since we were teenagers. As we approached our 30s, there was a bit of restlessness to explore other things, but in the midst of this exploration, I felt a void open up, like I needed to be making music with Leigh."
In the year since they re-united, the duo have released a Christmas record called The Dawn of Grace, and recently signed to EMI Credential. Straight after Greenbelt Sixpence will be heading back to the states to jump into the studio to record a new album, which we can expect in early 2010.
Most Excellent Factoid: Although Kiss Me was featured in the film She's All That, it gained most international notoriety when it was played on T.V. during Prince Edward's wedding!
