Aoradh began in 2005 as a group of people from different churches (and none) who were hungry to step outside the traditional boxes that we put faith into, and to find new ways to engage with the world, and to celebrate our faith.
Aoardh: Gaelic - meaning 'worship' or 'adoration'.
Our context is small town/rural Argyll, a place with a wonderful history of faith, and surrounded by spectacular scenery. Some of us are interested in developing worship and meditation tools that can be used in outdoor/wilderness settings.
We have relationships and seek partnerships with many different faith communities, but Aoradh itself has no denomination and stands firmly against the narrow sectarianism that has afflicted the West of Scotland for too long.
We believe in the formation of community - not the inward, exclusive kind, but rather the kind that seeks to serve others. In particular, we hope that the spaces we create provide an honest and welcoming place for others to adventure again with God.
