In many parts of the church, there seems to be a debate between those who claim to be "biblical" against those who want to be "inclusive", over many issues such as women or homosexuality. Drawing on a decade's research into the use of the Bible under apartheid in South Africa, Richard Burridge wants to challenge this view as a false choice.
The Revd Professor Richard A. Burridge is Dean of King's College London where he is also Professor of Biblical Interpretation. He is the author of many books including Imitating Jesus: An Inclusive Approach to New Testament Ethics (2007), and has just been leading seminars and speaking at the Lambeth Conference of Anglican Bishops.
