In these days of an over-saturated music market too many bands try to describe themselves as 'unique' or 'impossible to pigeonhole', Shortfall are unashamedly a rock band who draw their inspiration from many bands - from The Clash to the Foo Fighters.
Since the current line-up came together in 2007, the band have quickly gained a reputation on the Brighton music scene; already building a strong fan base and playing well-attended headline slots at notable venues such as the Brighton Barfly and The Providence. 2007 also saw the band release their self-funded EP ‘Music for Model Citizens’ to a good reception, gaining radio play for the lead track ‘Said and Done’, and helping them build a loyal fan-base.
Shortfall are now committed to further building their experience and reputation in the thriving Brighton music scene, whilst also seeking to replicate this growth in London and further afield. The band continue to promote themselves in a distinctive manner using initiatives such as the ‘Freefall’ series of sample CDs and gig loyalty cards, as well as building their following through Myspace and other online communities.
The focus has always been on quality song writing, with the confident belief that this must be supported by excellent musicianship, interesting production, and an outstanding live performance.
