Collected together in equatorial Reading, Sounds of Salvation (or SoS) are a high-octane, ten-piece ska band dedicated to leading people in their own unique style of worshipping God.
As a band they are passionate about reflecting God's love and power in every one of their gigs and through their individual lives. A cross between Madness, Bon Jovi and a Salvation-Army brass band all strapped to a high-speed, turbo-charged steamroller without brakes going down the side of Snowdon (the steep side), they appeal across generations and look forward to playing as often as possible. Whether its a festival crowd, or for fewer people than are in the band, a party, a wedding or a worship service SoS are ready.
It started with a bunch of youth finding their voice to express their love of Jesus in events based in the local churches of Reading. SoS stumbled blinking with surprise into the national scene a disputed number of years ago (we think about 4) and have gigged around the country almost without stopping since then. SoS play a bunch of worship tunes, a brace of old skool hymns and a punnet of their own original material all in the ska style. With the release of their new album S'ka gjë confidently expected in time for Greenbelt, SoS are better looking than they have ever been before and aiming to get ever better.
