Re-wired

Fresh Talent Stage

Re-wired first emerged after winning the Imagine Scotland ’07 Battle Of The Bands competition.

Winning the contest, with a hastily arranged version of the Mary Mary hit Shackles. The group went on to play at their church’s Holiday Bible Club later that summer, the first time the group performed with its current line up.

The band frequently performed throughout the following year at local church services and in February 2008 they were recorded on local Christian radio station Gospel 4 Grampian. A recording date was then set at Eulogia Studios where the Switchfoot track Awakening and Hold On - the band’s first self-penned song - were committed to tape. The band also proceeded to play at a number of various events in the Aberdeen area including Westhill’s monthly Life Café.

Re-wired went on to further success on the local scene after winning Westhill Academy’s Pop Idol competition where they covered Awakening, performing in front of a few hundred of their peers.

Hailing from Westhill in the north-east of Scotland, the band cite Switchfoot, Delirious?, Leeland and Foo Fighters as major influences.

The band, who are all in 5th and 6th year at Westhill Academy, look to continue playing their music for the glory of Jesus Christ and to have a large impact upon people’s lives. Over the summer plans are set to spend time writing new material and recording their eagerly-anticipated demo.
