Grimm Tales - every night in The Hub

Ed Newell

Grimm Tales is a highly unusual series of four meditations exploring the religious meaning of some of the brothers Grimm’s most famous fairy tales: Cinderella, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, and Hansel and Gretel.

They are led by Canon Ed Newell of St Paul’s Cathedral, together with an actor, and use recorded music by PJ Harvey and others.

Grimm Tales have been performed on a retreat and in a Lent series at St Paul’s Cathedral this year, involving celebrity readers such as Andy Hamilton (The News Quiz, Old Harry’s Game etc) and Lynda Baron ('Nurse Gladys Emmanuel’ from Open All Hours).

The combination of humour, deep reflection, and unusual subject matter make this an ideal series for Greenbelt, appealing to a wide audience and age range.
