The (Bring Your Own) Library

The (Bring Your Own) Library

Sofas and standard lamps – that’s what Greenbelt needs more of! This year we’re creating The Library – a room within a room in The Hub – where you can take part in the Great Greenbelt Book Exchange.

So, along with your loo roll, wellies and sausages, bring a copy of your favourite book to Greenbelt ’08. Then drop it off at The Library where you can pick up someone else’s and if you like, have a quiet(ish) read. Childrens' books are welcome too.

Some things to bear in mind when you’re choosing which book to bring:

  • Small paperbacks are best – and fit nicely into your rucksack
  • Please think carefully before you bring Computers for Idiots or The World’s Worst Towns – try to choose something that someone else might like to read!
  • If the book is very precious to you why not stretch to a new copy to bring along, instead of parting with yours for good?
  • Please just bring ONE book – we’re hoping that lots of Greenbelters will bring a book and we only have a small space
  • Finally, PLEEEEASE note that this is not an opportunity to get rid of books that you don’t want, but an opportunity to SHARE a book that means a lot to you.

We have made a little bookmark where you can write a review to tell people why your book means so much to you and why you think other Greenbelters would love it too. Download it here, print it off at home, write your review on it, and slip it in the book you bring!
