Raised in Rochdale, after school Will put a harmonica in his pocket and followed his Anglo-Chinese roots to Hong Kong where he established himself as the 'number one blues harp player in Asia'.
He took the long way round to break into the UK music scene and went on to release five albums and worked with artists as diverse as Jackie Chan, Tommy Emmanuel, and Simon Le Bon.
He has now returned to Rochdale and released his UK debut album, Everything Changes. The new single from the album, The Other Side, has received fantastic reviews in Q, Uncut and the Guardian, and won the support of Bob Harris and others on Radio 2. The lead single, Love Bites, which was playlisted on MTV2, was a remix by veteran Manchester producer, Andy Votel, and demonstrated his continual drive to challenge genre boundaries.
Tang's fascinating journey makes him a genuine troubadour in the modern age, and has equipped him with an array of roots influences which augment his Delta Blues-based song-writing. His intimate and eclectic performance style promises to be a hit with audiences at this festival.
In a word: Zeppelinesque.
